What You’ll Work On Responsible for a variety of complex month-end closing activities, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, intercompany transactions, payroll analysis, account reconciliations, and month-end consolidations. Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, Abbott Corporate and division/department specific policies and procedures Collaborate with FP&A, other accounting colleagues, as well as Third Party Service providers to execute the financial close, provide guidance, and work together to improve processes Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and lead efforts to implement process changes Operate independently, be flexible in an environment with evolving and changing business processes Participate in projects and initiatives related to existing or new processes/implementations as needed. Complete external and internal audit requests, Sox requests, tax requests as well as ad-hoc requests from other parts of the organization Support all Company initiatives as identified by management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and/or Business.  CPA certification preferred, not required. At least 5 years of experience in accounting with positions of increasing responsibility. Prior experience in a large company Shared Services environment or cross-division business unit model preferred. Experience with working large ERP systems, SAP and HFM preferred, not required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, and data analysis required Ability to work independently, ability to lead projects Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
