Overview Starting pay for market: $60,000-65,000/year
As a design engineer at Snap-on Equipment, you will be responsible for designing and developing automotive alignment & ADAS products. This will include Quality improvements (Rapid Continuous Improvements) to existing products. Responsibilities
Provide mechanical design and development of new products or product enhancements for the automotive equipment and industrial tools industry. Must be able to perform in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines and nationalities.
Prepare thorough and accurate documentation for release to manufacturing and for internal product design records. Maintain an engineering notebook to document work activity in support of company’s patent goals.
Test and validate products to assure product performance and quality.
Work with manufacturing and service personnel to resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products.
Develop or modify manufacturing processes.
Work with other groups on value engineering initiatives to reduce product cost and/or improve performance of designs.
Develop an understanding of the company’s products and their applications.
Provide administrative support for Engineering Computer systems.
Work with outside approval agencies on initial product approvals and maintenance of existing files
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Mathematics, with a preference for 2 years’ experience in a design engineering environment
Must be proficient in the use of the computer for design and testing. Creo experience is preferred.
Up-to-date knowledge in mechanical design
Basic understanding of complementary technical disciplines, particularly electronics
Able to work with others and with minimal supervision.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must possess good time management and organizational skills.
Must possess good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Must be able to demonstrate initiative.
Must have practical experience in manufacturing processes and equipment.
Project management and customer interface experience is a plus.
