About this role

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The opportunity

We are looking for a talented and business-minded counsel to join the Netflix Legal team in Seoul.

This role offers a unique opportunity to support Netflix’s fastest-growing and most dynamic business areas in Korea, including Advertising, Consumer Products, and Marketing/Brand Partnerships. Sitting at the intersection of structuring complex B2B transactions and navigating evolving regulatory landscapes, you will provide strategic legal solutions to help launch and scale new initiatives.

This position is ideal for an agile attorney who is prepared to lead innovative business models from the ground up and handle strategies within a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role will report to the Korea MACC (Marcomms, Ads, and Consumer Products) Legal Lead, based in Seoul, Korea.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

* End-to-End Deal Execution: Draft, review, negotiate, execute, and manage a wide range of B2B commercial agreements supporting Netflix’s growth initiatives in Korea, including consumer products and marketing/brand partnerships — independently or under supervision as appropriate.

* Advertising Business Support: Provide comprehensive legal support to Netflix’s advertising business in Korea by structuring and negotiating agreements with advertising agencies, advertisers, measurement partners, and third-party ad-tech service providers.

* Strategic Business Partnership: Serve as a legal partner to the advertising, consumer products, and marketing/brand partnerships teams, providing practical, business-oriented advice on deal structures, risk allocation, rights, sponsorship frameworks, and new ad products.

* Regulatory Compliance: Provide clear and pragmatic guidance on Korean advertising regulations—including consumer protection, fair labeling, and promotional standards—effectively translating regulatory requirements into actionable business recommendations.

* IP Portfolio Advisory: Advise on usage rights, restrictions, and approvals related to Netflix’s intellectual property portfolio (trademarks, logos, content clips, talent likeness, and brand assets) in connection with commercial and marketing activities.

* Global & Regional Alignment: Collaborate closely with global and regional legal teams to align local transactions with Netflix’s broader business objectives and policies, while appropriately localizing legal approaches for the Korean market.

* Operational Excellence: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve contracting processes, scalable templates, and playbooks to enable efficient deal-making in an evolving business environment.

* Insights & Knowledge Management: Monitor and track deal structures, key risk profiles, and evolving legal trends in new business domains to contribute to the team’s long-term knowledge management.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have 4+ years of relevant legal experience, either in-house and/or at a leading law firm, with a bar membership in good standing in at least one jurisdiction (Korea preferred).

The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Korean, and the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear, practical, and business-oriented advice for a wide range of stakeholders. Given the highly cross-functional nature of the role, strong collaboration, influence, and interpersonal skills are essential.

The ideal candidate should also be able to demonstrate the following:

* Proven experience drafting, negotiating, and managing B2B commercial agreements in English, preferably including licensing or strategic
