We are looking for a Systems Engineer Associate to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This engineer will be asked to contribute to a variety of components including, but not limited to: datalink/communications, Position and Time sensors, Navigation Algorithms, Modeling, Antennas, etc. The possible activities may span the entirety of Engineering Development Lifecycle, including Design, Requirements, Validation & Verification, and Integration. A large portion of the day will be spent in the lab with hands-on equipment. With the full array of Precision Landing- enabling functionalities, the team is responsible for architecting, designing, and developing systems and producing products that serve the Land, Sea and Airborne domains. Datalinks, Airborne computing, data processing and GPS Sensor Systems are just some of the sub-products that make up the product line. What You Will Do • Drive test efforts in support of the program requirements • Become familiar with test efforts requirements, rigorous test procedure development and extensive system-level lab testing • Collaborate with team members to learn best practices and troubleshoot tough problems • Communicate with our Government customers and the certifying agency • Travel up to 10% Qualifications You Must Have • Familiarity with systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, and verification/validation, and transition to production • Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field Qualifications We Prefer • Knowledge of RF propagation, testing, test equipment • Familiarity with comm engineering architectures (e.g: general radio transceiver architectures/designs, basic radio functional component blocks, performance specifications and test methodologies) • Experience with Python scripting, test automation • Strong communication skills, experience presenting technical data What We Offer • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Three weeks of vacation for newly hired employees • Generous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds and separate employer retirement contribution, including a Lifetime Income Strategy option • Tuition reimbursement program • Student Loan Repayment Program • Life insurance and disability coverage • Optional coverages you can buy pet insurance, home and auto insurance, additional life and accident insurance, critical illness insurance, group legal, ID theft protection • Birth, adoption, parental leave benefits • Ovia Health, fertility, and family planning • Adoption Assistance
