Job Description
CDM Smith is looking for an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group! This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to put their engineering skills to work on innovative water and wastewater projects while building a strong foundation for their career. As part of our team, you’ll support the planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and related infrastructure. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to develop solutions that meet client needs and comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Your responsibilities may include: Supporting site assessments, water quality analyses, and engineering modeling. Developing and adjusting design parameters based on project needs. Preparing technical reports, project documentation, and client presentations. Using tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, and Excel to support engineering and design work. Collaborating with engineers and project teams across the project lifecycle. Participating in fieldwork and construction management activities, providing valuable hands-on experience beyond the office. Skills & Abilities Basic Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Basic Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Good verbal and written communication ability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
