About this role
Job Summary: Responsible for the setup, operation, and support of a wide range of manufacturing equipment used in the production of medical device components, including cases and trays, ensuring adherence to quality, documentation, and regulatory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain and apply information from work instructions, routers/travelers, and process sheets. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Set up and operate manufacturing equipment such as brake press, extruder, turret press, water jet, silkscreen, laser, and related machinery. Support production operations by assisting with material movement as needed. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure quality output. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify conformance. Inspect finished parts for cosmetic and dimensional defects. Perform secondary operations such as deburring, polishing, cleaning, and preparation. Label, identify, and track product throughout production. Complete and maintain required documentation (travelers, inspection records, etc.). Escalate issues to leadership to help maintain productivity. Maintain clean and organized work area per 5S/6S standards. Assist with prototype builds and process improvements. Train other operators once proficient. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
Education
Minimum: High School or GED
Experience
1-3 years Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
KSA's
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions. Basic mechanical aptitude. Strong attention to detail. Ability to operate and troubleshoot multiple machines. Strong documentation and inspection skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-mix production environment.
Work Environment
Work performed in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, in some areas.
