Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician 2/3 to join our growing team in Rocket Center, WV. No telework is available.

Principal Responsibilities

Operates analytical instrumentation. Performs standard analytical test methods for quality control, material assessment, or engineering evaluation. Provides technical support to plant personnel on a variety of tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Follows engineering documentation requirements including specifications and drawings. Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas. Performs quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Disposes of raw materials per regulatory guidelines. Communicates well across multiple disciplines. Monitors gauge, instrument, and equipment calibrations. Ensures calibration cycles are not exceeded. Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions. Able to work overtime as required. This position will be filled at either the Engineering Technician 2 or Engineering Technician 3 level based on the selected candidate’s education, experience, and qualifications.

Basic Qualifications

Engineering Technician 2: High school diploma and 2 years of relevant work experience. Ability to routinely lift 30 pounds and ability to work in tight spaces. Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision. Proficient in MS Office. Ability and willingness to provide coverage on weekends. Ability to obtain a US government Secret security clearance as needed, for which US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Engineering Technician 3: High school diploma and 4 years of relevant work experience. Ability to routinely lift 30 pounds and ability to work in tight spaces. Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision. Proficient in MS Office. Ability and willingness to provide coverage on weekends. Ability to obtain a US government Secret security clearance as needed, for which US Citizenship is a prerequisite. Preferred Qualifications both levels: Technology degree preferred. Experience handling energetics, hazardous chemicals, and solvents
