Data Analyst

The Insights and Product Analytics team (IPA) organization is responsible for business performance of all research products and performs analysis related to all aspects of Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights business unit. The Retention Analytics and Applied IVR team within IPA is at the forefront of harnessing the latest analytics and AI advancements to define paths to higher client retention. The team leads analytics across several fronts spanning content, interactions, conferences and all other Gartner client facing assets. The team also leads critical pillars like associate performance analytics, budget and financial analysis (in partnership with the finance organization). We are looking for a Data Analyst who is an analytical problem solver with solid business acumen and an eagerness to bridge business execution with analytics. This role requires a strong understanding of analytical techniques, a foundational grasp of data science concepts, and the ability to present actionable insights clearly to business stakeholders. What you will do : Contribute to problem structuring, analysis, and execution of key strategic initiatives and team deliverables. Collaborate with data science and data engineering teams to support the development of scalable, analytics-based solutions aimed at improving client retention. Analyze large amounts of data to derive meaningful business insights. Support ongoing efforts to harness the full potential of Gartner’s proprietary data. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their operational needs and assist in building tailored analytical solutions.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience involving data or business analytics. Data Science: Foundational understanding of data science concepts and their practical business applications.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or operations research. Technical Skills: Solid technical capability to analyze, interpret, and visualize data effectively. Programming: Working knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R. Problem Solving: Strong analytical reasoning and critical thinking skills, with a track record of using data to address business questions. Statistical Analysis: Ability to perform statistical analysis, identify trends and patterns, avoid bias, and apply standard methodologies. Attention to Detail: High standard for data hygiene, quality checks, and thorough documentation. Tools: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Collaboration: Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed environment and articulate findings clearly. Communication: Clear, structured, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
