Your Impact

The primary purpose of the Director, AI Governance is to partner closely with technology, and business leaders to embed responsible AI practices throughout the product development lifecycle. This role establishes scalable, risk-based governance frameworks, guardrails, and controls that promote transparency, regulatory compliance, and customer trust while preserving the speed and agility required for innovation. The Director, AI Governance partners with Legal to translate evolving regulatory and industry expectations into practical requirements and identifies opportunities to integrate and automate governance activities across product design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring. Working across internal teams and third-party vendors, the Director, AI Governance establishes portfolio-level priorities and objectives, removes unnecessary friction, and ensures the AI Governance team consistently meets or exceeds business and risk-management expectations.

What You Will Do

Refine and operationalize the responsible AI framework that promotes the ethical development, implementation, and use of AI solutions to fulfill the company's mission. Partner with enterprise Architecture, Data Science, Information Security, and other technology teams to embed governance controls into the product lifecycle. Manage the governance approach and compliance processes that guide the use of AI in products, ensuring the organization meets expected industry standards and the requirements of the evolving regulatory landscape. Develop and maintain policies, guidelines, and processes that promote the ethical development and deployment of AI and other advanced technologies. Serve as an expert and educator to the broader organization around AI regulation and best practices for the responsible development of products and safe deployment of solutions to end users. Drive the development and deployment of related training to technology and business users throughout the organization. Keep abreast of emerging industry trends, public expectations, and the legal and regulatory landscape as it relates to the use of AI solutions. Oversee risk management related to AI initiatives; escalate issues to senior management when appropriate; raise business risks associated with AI to senior management in technology and business stakeholders. Build and manage the governance team, helping to support the team's growth and removing obstacles as necessary. Ensure the team continuously identifies, assesses, measures, and monitors the value of the program and iterates to increase effectiveness. Lead a team in support of achieving the company’s mission. Manage performance and foster an inclusive environment to help associates achieve their potential.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, business administration, cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable 10 years of experience serving as a cross-functional leader in a software-focused organization, with substantial exposure to policy and regulatory matters, such as data privacy, AI, or cybersecurity 5 years of direct team leadership experience leading technical or project teams and directing and/or influencing teams on emerging technologies (preferably AI), and their potential ethical, legal, and safety challenges Preferred Skills/Education Master’s degree in computer science, CIS, engineering, business administration, cybersecurity, or related field 3 years of experience partnering with Data Science and engineering teams, with a strong understanding of the technology SDLC and the ability to identify and embed control activities throughout
