About this role

We are seeking an ambitious Technical Program Manager to join our Metrics and Data Platform team at Amazon Music. The Metrics and Data Platform team plays a central role in enabling Amazon Music's business decisions and software development by processing billions of streaming events and delivering the behavioral and operational metrics that teams across Music, Prime, and Retail depend on every day. We maintain a scalable and robust data platform to support Amazon Music's business operations and growth, and collaborate closely with data producers and data consumers to accelerate innovation using data. As a Technical Program Manager, you will own and drive multiple high-impact programs across Amazon Music. You will start by owning and curating Amazon Music's data model, serving as the central steward of how the business represents customer behaviors as data concepts. You will standardize key concepts across teams, simplify our event model to make it more intuitive and valuable, and grow the event model over time so it keeps pace with an evolving business. A major part of this work is building GenAI tooling to automate the curation and evolution of the event model, reducing manual effort and helping the platform scale. From this foundation, you will grow to take on additional high-impact programs across Amazon Music, driving org-wide priorities as they emerge. A successful candidate will be customer obsessed, highly analytical, adept at managing multiple complex programs simultaneously across a data-heavy organization, and energized by the opportunity to shape how an entire organization defines and uses its data. Key job responsibilities - Owning and curating Amazon Music's behavioral data model, serving as the central steward for how core data concepts are defined and represented across the business - Standardizing key data concepts across teams, driving alignment between data producers and consumers so that shared concepts are defined consistently and unambiguously - Consulting on the design of high-quality instrumentation specifications for new products and features - Simplifying the event model to make it more intuitive, reducing complexity and redundancy so teams can find and trust the data they need - Evolving the event model with the business, partnering with data producers and consumers to enhance and grow coverage as new products, features, and use cases emerge - Building GenAI tooling to automate the curation of the event model, including improved attribution, automated validation, automated instrumentation specification generation, and reduced manual overhead in maintaining the model - Leading cross-org programs with central Amazon teams, including driving technical alignment and program execution with teams outside of Music (e.g., AWS, Devices, Stores), navigating ambiguity where business and architectural strategies are not clearly defined, and building consensus across organizations with competing priorities - Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineers, product managers, business analysts, and senior leadership, to align on priorities and drive program execution - Writing effective narratives and presenting program updates, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership - Proactively identifying risks and removing blockers to keep programs on track - Defining and managing program roadmaps, milestones, and goals in partnership with engineering and product stakeholders - Identifying strategic opportunities for the Metrics and Data Platform team to expand its impact and influence across Amazon Music as part of annual planning About the team Amazon Music is an immersive audio entertainment service that deepens connections between fans, artists, and creators.
