Tech Fellow, AI & Technology Architecture As the Tech Fellow, AI & Technology Architecture, you will set the enterprise technology and AI architecture vision, strategy, standards, and roadmaps that enable Best Buy to scale trusted, reusable, and agent-enabled capabilities across products, platforms, infrastructure, and services. Technology Architecture leaders at Best Buy define the vision, strategy, and architectural direction that enable long-term business outcomes. As the Tech Fellow, AI & Technology Architecture, you will provide senior technical leadership for AI Strategy & Transformation, establishing enterprise AI architectures, standards, roadmaps, and reusable patterns that accelerate innovation while maintaining security, reliability, and trust. Serving as the senior architecture advisor to the Chief AI Strategy & Transformation, you will drive alignment across Architecture, Product, Engineering, Data, Cybersecurity, and Platform teams to create a cohesive AI ecosystem. Through deep technical expertise and influence, you will shape Best Buy's north-star AI architecture, guide critical technology decisions, and enable teams to scale agentic and AI-powered capabilities using proven, enterprise-ready patterns. This role is remote, which means you would work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. What you’ll do Define the enterprise technology and AI architecture vision, strategy, standards, and roadmaps. Establish secure, reliable, and reusable architecture patterns for AI and agent-enabled capabilities. Advise senior leaders on critical AI architecture, technology, and investment decisions. Align Architecture, Product, Engineering, Data, Cybersecurity, and Platform teams around a cohesive AI ecosystem. Guide the design and adoption of scalable, enterprise-ready AI platforms and solutions. Evaluate emerging technologies and translate industry advancements into actionable enterprise opportunities. Provide technical thought leadership, mentorship, and governance across the architecture community.
Basic qualifications
Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 12+ years of experience relative to the role 5+ years of direct people management and team management / leadership experience. Demonstrated experience in Application, Data, Integration, Infrastructure Architecture and Hands on experience leading AI/ML and Agentic Systems Architecture Architecture governance Technical leadership through influence Preferred qualifications 15+ years of directly related experience 6+ years of people management and team leadership experience Deep expertise in enterprise and AI architecture, agent runtime and orchestration, context and retrieval systems, model integration, evaluation and observability, DevSecOps, policy-as-code, and agentic delivery lifecycles. Exceptional executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes and enterprise strategy.
