The Network Technician III plays a vital role in delivering on that promise. In this position, the technician serves as a key contributor to the reliability and performance of Lumen’s transport network infrastructure. Leveraging advanced expertise in SONET, SDH, and DWDM technologies, the technician is responsible for maintaining, installing, and enhancing critical network services that keep customers and businesses connected. From diagnosing complex transport network issues to implementing service changes and restoring connectivity, the Network Technician III helps ensure seamless customer experiences and operational excellence. Location This is a work from out of office position. The location is 5325 ZUNI ST, Denver, CO. The Main Responsibilities • Lead engineering and network implementation teams to deliver scalable solutions, drive innovation, and ensure successful project execution. • Serve as the primary technical point of contact (NT3), coordinating with engineering, service delivery, customers, vendors, and internal partners. • Develop and maintain fiber quality assurance programs, including OTDR testing, FastReporter analysis, and contract compliance validation. • Lead installation, provisioning, maintenance, regroom, and troubleshooting activities for Layers 1–3 network services, including Ethernet and optical transport systems. • Design, document, and implement router configurations and network transport solutions while performing fault isolation and resolution. • Apply expertise in BGP, eBGP, OSPF, MPLS, static routing, and foundational LAN/WAN technologies to support network operations. • Mentor, train, and provide technical leadership to technicians, engineers, contractors, and field teams, including supervisory support when required. • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and maintain architectural integrity. • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, digital platforms, AI-driven analytics, and process improvements to enhance operational performance and service delivery. • Perform data center and field operations, including equipment installation, fiber/Cat5 cabling, power systems support (-48V DC), asset handling, and safe use of lifting equipment, ladders, and pallet jacks.
