Medical Assistant –Dermatology Capital Medical Group | Independence Physician Management (IPM), a UHS Subsidiary Location: 2150 Pennsylvania Ave & 2300 M St, Washington, DC Work Setting: Onsite Shift: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Capital Medical Group is a newly acquired physician practice group within Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Dermatology practice and provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to patients and providers. This position supports efficient patient flow, prepares patients for examinations and procedures, obtains and documents clinical information, and assists the care team in delivering safe, timely, and patient-centered care.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage patient flow, room patients, and prepare them for examinations and procedures. Obtain and document vital signs, medications, medical history, and other required information in the EMR. Assist providers with examinations, dermatologic procedures, testing, and specimen collection as permitted. Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, instruments, and clinical supplies. Support medication reconciliation and assist with medications or injections when appropriately authorized, supervised, and permitted. Provide provider-directed patient instructions and communicate concerns or abnormal findings to the appropriate clinical staff. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA, infection prevention, safety, organizational, and applicable regulatory requirements. Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned within the Medical Assistant’s permitted scope of practice.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program required. Certification Current BLS/CPR/AED certification required. Certification and Registration as a Medical Assistant required.
Experience
Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience required. Experience in Dermatology or another procedural specialty preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach in a healthcare environment. Ability to assist with patient positioning and mobility as required. Ability to occasionally lift or carry and frequently push or pull up to 100 pounds as required by the role. Ability to work in healthcare environments that may require personal protective
