Main responsibilities
PM Deli Lead will oversee Safeway’s New “Ready Meals” program. This is a Full-Time position; the contractual wage rate is $18.00/hour. If already above this rate a $1.50 premium above your clerk rate will be given. You MUST be available to work five nights a week. The 4 th and 5 th night shift will not be eligible for overtime for hours worked after 6 PM. At least two of these night shifts must end by 10 PM. Any work beyond 10 PM on a 4 th or 5 th night will be paid at the overtime rate. The PM Deli Lead will be responsible for all aspects of the new “Ready Meals” program including but not limited to merchandising, meal kit completion and training/supervising associates on the “Ready Meals” program. Applicants must be proficient in performing Deli/Food service work for periods of time. Other duties as may be assigned by management.
Hire, train, coach, and develop deli associates while promoting teamwork and accountability
Ensure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature controls, and regulatory requirements

Deli production, food handling, and merchandising execution

Inventory management, ordering, and shrink control
Food safety, sanitation, and compliance oversight
Knowledge
Food safety standards, sanitation practices, and equipment operation
Deli preparation techniques and merchandising standards
Store systems, ordering platforms, and basic computer applications
Abilities
Ability to review sales, labor, and shrink data to support planning and prioritization
Ability to train, coach, and develop associates
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot and cold temperature environments
Ability to safely operate slicers, ovens, knives, scales, and cleaning tools

Other requirements: Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; reliable attendance; compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and the Code of Business Conduct
