Measurement Technician – Gueydan, LA

The Measurement Technician position is based out of Kinder Morgan’s Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America (NGPL) Gueydan, LA Compressor Station Number 346 located at 465 Harrys Road, Gueydan, LA  70542.  Management will consider alternate locations in Lafayette, LA or Eunice, LA.  This is a Monday through Friday position with on-call responsibilities nights and weekends.    To be considered for our Gueydan, LA Measurement Tech job click on “Apply Now” to sign in or create an account to upload your resume.  This is a great opportunity if you are an experienced Operations Specialist, Equipment and Controls Technician, Maintenance Manager, Natural Gas Operations Technician, Railway Engineer, Quality Tech, Corrosion Technician, Gas Mechanic or similar.   Primary Purpose: Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets.   Responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation and accuracy of all natural gas and control facilities.  Responsibilities include sites primarily in the Division 6 Measurement group area from Johnson Bayou, LA (western boundary) to Erath, LA (eastern boundary) and from Eunice, AL (northern boundary) to the Gulf of America (southern boundary), but may vary and is subject to change.

Essential duties and responsibilities: Install, inspect, test, adjust, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and remove advanced measurement, control and regulation equipment, and gas quality equipment Detect measurement error, correct volumes as needed and provide supporting documentation Monitor gas volumes through the measurement system; ensure all corrections are applied and proper gas composition is applied Interpret and apply electrical and electronic schematics pertaining to EFM and measurement electronics Assess all facets of assigned facilities to ensure accurate measurement and maintaining the company’s lost and unaccounted for gas (L&U) and product with a high degree of ownership within the established corporate goals Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns Perform audits of custody transfer and control data when necessary Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence Work safely when performing duties while fully embracing safety programs including but not limited to safety observations, job safety analysis, last minute risk assessments, safe driving, cell phone policy, etc. Respond timely in communications Complete projects in a timely manner in accordance with budgets and expectations Display the Kinder Morgan values and code of business conduct while performing work which includes but is not limited to honesty, integrity, respect for people, openness, teamwork, professionalism, excellence, and pride in what we do Demonstrate a positive attitude that creates a good work environment Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Overtime will be expected as required by the position; Limited overnight travel may also be required Other duties as assigned What You Need Education: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of pipeline experience Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations Achieve and maintain all qualifications, certifications, and progression requirements applicable to the job classification Completion of any site specific technical training that may be applicable
