The BOLT ( Building Opportunities & Learning Together ) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. As a member of the dynamic natural gas pipeline commercial team, the candidate will be exposed to natural gas pipeline operations, contracting for the sale of firm and interruptible transportation and storage capacity, measurement, customer allocations and invoicing, and gas accounting and reporting. The Commercial/Account Services Intern works as a member of a team that produces monthly transportation invoices, forecasts revenue, reviews contracts, ensures adherence to the compliance program, and supports the commercial teams.
What You Will Do
Over the course of the Summer 2027 internship, the candidate will: Prepare and analyze monthly customer invoices ensuring accuracy and timely processing in accordance with pipeline tariffs and SOX controls. Prepare biweekly forecasting in revenue plan. Review contracts for contract set-up, charge set-up, and rate entry in DART. Work with the Accounts Receivable group on past due collections from customers. Participate in managing the Regulatory Compliance program including weekly Transactional Postings review, SOX Controls, audit requests, and reporting requirements. Responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues. Responding to requests and inquiries from the Commercial group. What You Need Position Requirements: Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes with the ability to identify and resolve simple to complex issues. Highly motivated individual with initiative to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities. Detail oriented, yet able to communicate the larger picture to the management team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft software products and the ability to learn proprietary computer systems. Ability to perform job responsibilities effectively in an open office environment.
