Quality Conformance Manager (d/f/m) - First Article & Source Inspection

We are looking for a Quality Conformance Manager (d/f/m) to join our team. In this role, you act as the "quality wall" directly at our supplier locations to secure product conformity and ensure that all components strictly adhere to our design specifications and safety requirements. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Note on travel requirements: This role requires extensive international travel for the majority of the year to different supplier locations for short periods (approx. 35 weeks per year, typically in short 1-week trips). Your benefits Fair Compensation & Extras: Attractive remuneration and individual additional benefits, such as company pension schemes, mobility offers (e.g., bike leasing), or corporate discounts with partner companies in accordance with our current guidelines Time for You (and Your Loved Ones): 30 days of annual leave based on our collective agreement (35-hour week); work-life balance through flexible working hours (flextime), mobile working, part-time options, job sharing, and sabbatical opportunities Growth Made Easy: Excellent professional development opportunities and international, group-wide career perspectives Feel Good at Work: On-site company doctor; comprehensive health programs (sports courses, preventive care, etc.), canteen and cafeteria, and local childcare facilities at selected locations Diversity Connects: Work in a diverse environment with more than 140 nationalities, where exchange, mutual support, and inclusion are part of our DNA Your tasks and responsibilities Act as the accountable quality wall at the supplier side to secure product conformity and ensure safe operation documentation for all cabin parts and cargo work packages released to Final Assembly Lines (FAL), manufacturing plants, and customers Plan and execute First Article Inspection (FAI) checks by witnessing supplier FAIs for new cabin and cargo components, ensuring engineering design and specification requirements are correctly understood, verified, and recorded Verify supplier FAI readiness upon invitation by checking required FAI documentation, questionnaires, and engineering design review results prior to on-site visits Perform Source Inspections (SI) and FAI buy-backs at supplier facilities on special request (e.g., in cases of decreasing quality performance or high customer expectations), occasionally in joint visits with airline customers Consult with Engineering departments for technical verification when required, ensuring reproducibility and maintenance of acceptable quality standards for consecutive production parts Provide objective evidence, key observations, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on AS/EN/JISQ9102 standard checks to internal interface teams and project departments Your boarding pass University degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering), Quality Management or a completed qualification as a State-Certified Technician / Master Craftsman ( Techniker / Meister ) in a relevant technical field  Initial experience in quality assurance, quality inspection or supplier quality management, ideally within the aerospace or high-tech manufacturing sector Solid understanding of quality inspection methods and standard aviation frameworks (familiarity with AS/EN/JISQ9102 FAI standards is a strong asset) Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to act assertively yet diplomatically as an Airbus quality representative towards external suppliers Negotiation level
