About this role

This is a remote/ rotational position, working on the North Slope of Alaska. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and the North Slope is provided. Job Summary

The Drilling Specialist is responsible for the planning, coordination, tracking, and management of materials, equipment, and inventory required to support drilling operations on Alaska's North Slope. This position serves as a critical link between drilling operations, supply chain, logistics providers, warehouses, vendors, and field personnel to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. The Drilling Specialist plays an essential role in minimizing drilling downtime, controlling inventory costs, and ensuring safe and compliant material movements. Essential Job Functions: 24-hour support for all rig’s field requests (FR) materials or equipment needs. Coordinate the procurement, transportation, receipt, storage, and delivery of drilling-related materials and equipment. Monitor inventory levels of drilling consumables, tubulars, casing, drilling fluids, wellhead equipment, and other critical drilling materials. Coordinates with vendors to have the drilling and completion equipment prepared and ready for the rig’s usage. Ensure critical materials are available to support ongoing drilling operations and upcoming well programs. Track material status from purchase order issuance through delivery and field utilization. Coordinate with drilling supervisors, drilling engineers, logistics personnel, warehouse staff, and vendors regarding material requirements and delivery schedules. Coordinates and communicates with the logistics and aviation team the needs of the rigs at WNS to move inventory and tools across the river. Monitor material consumption rates and identify opportunities to improve inventory management and reduce waste. Support mobilization and demobilization activities for drilling rigs and associated equipment. Ensure all material handling activities comply with company safety policies and environmental requirements. Participate in daily operational meetings and communicate material availability, shortages, and delivery schedules. Support emergency material requests and coordinate expedited deliveries when operationally required. This role will require outdoor work in the winter. Train and mentor the Drilling Coordinators and Drilling Techs on the drilling equipment and tools. Knowledge, Skills, Ability: Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of drilling operations, drilling equipment, and drilling consumables. Understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, procurement processes, and supply chain principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience using ERP systems, inventory management software, SAP, Maximo, Oracle, or similar platforms. Ability to analyze inventory usage trends and forecast material requirements. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to work effectively with operations, logistics, engineering, and supply chain personnel. Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures. Ability to demonstrate support for the company's environmental management system.
