About this Role Coordinates pre-construction field activities for distribution projects, ensuring utility locates, right-of-way (ROW) access, vegetation clearing, and easement work are completed on schedule so construction crews can mobilize without delay. Serves as the field-level liaison between project managers, landowners, locate services, clearing contractors, and construction crews. What You'll Do
Schedule and confirm utility locates (811/One-Call) for all upcoming work sites; verify locate marks before crew mobilization Coordinate pre-site walks with project managers, foremen, and engineering to identify access issues, obstructions, or permitting gaps Track right-of-way and easement status; follow up on outstanding landowner agreements, permissions, or notifications Communicate with landowners regarding access, clearing schedules, and any concerns; escalate disputes to ROW/land agents as needed Schedule and monitor vegetation clearing crews; verify clearing scope matches engineering/ROW requirements before crews arrive Maintain a tracking log/status board of locates, easements, and clearing progress per job, flagging at-risk sites to project managers Coordinate with permitting (municipal, DOT, environmental) to confirm approvals are in place ahead of construction Verify site readiness (access, locates, clearing, permits) before handoff to construction crews; communicate go/no-go status Resolve or escalate field conflicts (locate discrepancies, landowner pushback, access blockages, weather delays) Maintain accurate records in project tracking/ERP systems
What You'll Bring
High school diploma required; associate degree or relevant experience in construction, land services, or utility operations preferred 2+ years in utility construction support, ROW/land coordination, locate coordination, or similar field-liaison role Working knowledge of 811/One-Call locate processes and utility easement/ROW basics Comfortable driving to multiple job sites and interacting directly with landowners Strong organizational skills; able to track multiple sites/schedules simultaneously Clear communicator, able to de-escalate landowner concerns and coordinate across internal/external teams Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
Working Conditions
Field-based role with frequent site travel across service territory Exposure to outdoor conditions, varied terrain, and occasional interaction with difficult landowners Standard business hours with flexibility for weather delays or urgent access issues
