Overview
Software Engineer II develops and maintains software solutions that support Microsoft products, services, and platforms. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of software systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams and continuing to build technical expertise.
Responsibilities
Software Development Design and implement software features, services, and components. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback. Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects. Engineering Excellence Follow engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes. Create and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests. Improve the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of systems and services. Contribute to technical documentation and design reviews. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues affecting production services, as applicable. Collaboration Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver solutions. Participate in agile development processes, including planning, execution, and retrospectives. Communicate technical concepts, issues, and project progress effectively with team members and stakeholders. Learning and Growth Learn and apply Microsoft engineering tools, processes, and best practices. Seek mentorship and feedback to support professional development. Take ownership of assigned features, services, or components from design through implementation and support. Build technical expertise within the team's technology stack.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Additional or preferred qualifications Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
