Job Title: Painter Job Locatio n: Mirabel, QC Job Code: 43549 Job Schedule: Day Shift Compensation Range: Between $28,56 - $ 42,86 CD N per hour The role you will play From complex drawings, production orders, Materials and Process Standards, the painter applies the various layers of paint, protection or decoration to the interior surfaces of the aircraft or parts, using a gun or brush or manufactured assemblies. Essential Functions: Perform the different operations to prepare surfaces, such as cleaning, priming, stripping, patching, sanding and masking; Trace the reference lines on aircraft surfaces, using templates or drawings, to identify the parts to mask and determine the distribution of colors and positioning of decals and symbols; Prepare and use all kinds of paint spraying devices, mix or dilute paint to obtain the desired consistency and shades; Apply the different finishing coats to the inside or outside aircraft surfaces using a brush or spray gun; using a stencil, create symbols and add finishing touches, including the harmonization and matching of colors and position decals and apply finishing coats onto the vinyl or plastic liners on inside aircraft surfaces, so as to obtain perfect color harmonization; Apply priming and finishing coats by pulverizing the paint, varnish, electrolytic particles, glazed lacquer or polyurethane on parts or assemblies that were manufactured and then suspended on hooks or placed on turntables and belt conveyors in paint spray booths; Apply and monitor the drying process (infrared lamps). The painter also has to follows the administrative and technical rules in the establishment, such as; Health and safety; Foreign Object Damage (FOD); Flight safety; Documentation and files; Work instructions; Procedures specifications.
Qualifications
Training as an aircraft painter or military equivalent or Professional diploma in bodywork or experience as a painter in a paint shop; Combined experience in preparing and finishing parts including priming and painting (an asset); Experience in aeronautics (an asset); Bilingualism (an asset); Experience on CF-18 (asset) Has strong skills for teamwork; Is dynamic and innovative and is stimulated by technical challenges; Is organized, autonomous and has a developed analytical sense. Eligibility Criteria: Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program; Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance; Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
