Job Title: Locksmith (NARA II) Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Locksmith, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, at our National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) project in College Park, Md (NARA II).Local 99 Reports to: Chief operating Engineer#egs Essential Duties & Responsibilities The responsibilities of personnel in this position include, but are not limited to: • Repairing key locksets• Fabricating and replicating keys• Opening key locksets; Installing, performing maintenance, repairing, replacing, removing, opening, and resetting of mechanical, electronic combination cipher locks, electronic card locks, and electronic security systems to include replacing lockset batteries when necessary• Unlocking buildings, safes, vaults, file cabinets, desks, lockers (with or without combination or key), etc., to gain access when authorized; and Performing improvement, alteration, and adaptation of locking devices and systems. Qualifications Qualifications: · Certified and bonded by both D.C. and the State of Maryland. · Ability to speak, read and write in English is highly desirable. · Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance Physical Demands Physical Demands: · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk for extended periods; required to sit; use hands to finger, handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and test or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. · Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
