Overview The Tax Intern will support the NetApp Tax team at NetApp's International Headquarters in Cork City, Ireland. The role will assist both the direct tax and indirect tax functions, providing practical support across compliance, reporting, documentation, reconciliations, research, process improvement, and project activities. This internship is designed for a motivated university student studying a business, finance or accounting course who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in an international tax function within a multinational technology business. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the NetApp Tax and Finance teams and will be expected to contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment. You should have the unrestricted right to work in Ireland for the entire duration of the internship. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship. You are required to come into the Cork office a minimum of three times a week as part of our hybrid work culture.
Key Responsibilities
Support direct and indirect tax compliance activities, including the preparation of data packs, schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation for corporate income tax, VAT, and other tax filings. Assist with tax reporting, provisioning, statutory reporting, reconciliations, and balance sheet substantiation to help ensure accurate and timely compliance. Contribute to transfer pricing, operational tax, VAT, and other tax-related projects through research, analysis, document management, and coordination of deliverables. Maintain tax records, compliance trackers, workflow tools, and process documentation to support effective tax operations, internal controls, and audit readiness. Prepare and organize working papers, evidence files, process notes, and supporting documentation for tax filings, reviews, audits, and governance requirements. Review and reconcile tax-related transaction data to support accurate reporting, strong documentation standards, and clear audit trails. Identify opportunities to enhance processes, templates, systems, and controls, and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Tax, Finance, external advisors, and other stakeholders to gather information, support projects, prepare team materials, and contribute to knowledge sharing and ongoing professional development.
Your Profile
Current university student, preferably studying business, commerce, accounting, finance, economics, taxation, or a related course. Quick learner with the ability to absorb new concepts and apply them in a practical business context. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an organised approach to managing tasks and deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while also working well as part of a collaborative team. Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Interest in international tax, indirect tax, business operations, technology, or multinational finance environments.
