Job Overview
The Global Capital Equipment Procurement sourcing will manage global CAPEX procurement activities to support business growth, manufacturing footprint expansion, and major capital investment projects. This role is responsible for developing and executing global equipment procurement strategies, managing strategic suppliers, leading a procurement team, controlling equipment cost and lead time, and ensuring project safe launch readiness. The ideal candidate should bring strong capital equipment procurement experience, proven exposure to large multinational manufacturing environments, and a successful track record of managing high-value investment projects across multiple countries. This role requires creative thinking to challenge traditional investment models and reduce capital spending, and strategic thinking to build a long-term supplier roadmap in close partnership with Engineering and Operations.
Job Requirements
1. Global Equipment Procurement Strategy
Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for capital equipment investment projects. Build a long-term supplier strategy aligned with global manufacturing footprint, engineering roadmap, operational needs, and business growth priorities. Drive supplier segmentation, strategic supplier development, multi sourcing, regional support capability, and risk mitigation strategies. Establish global procurement standards, best practices, and governance for equipment sourcing and supplier selection.
2. CAPEX Cost Optimization & Investment Reduction
Lead cost reduction initiatives for major equipment and CAPEX projects through competitive sourcing, benchmarking, design-to-cost, value engineering, commercial negotiation, supplier innovation, and total cost of ownership optimization. Apply creative thinking to challenge existing investment assumptions and identify alternative technical or commercial solutions to reduce capital investment. Partner with Engineering and Operations to optimize equipment specifications, standardize platforms, and improve investment efficiency while maintaining quality and launch requirements. Manage large-scale investment projects and ensure commercial competitiveness, delivery discipline, and business continuity.
