For over 60 years, the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team has supported the Navy’s mission to provide affordable and credible strategic defense. The program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. In this role, you will be part of the Mission Success (MS) team supporting the Trident II Life Extension Program 2 (LE2) program. As part of the Lockheed Martin internal independent review team, you will have daily interaction with the Chief Engineer’s Office, Program Management, and the FBM Mission Success Lead. Ability to juggle development and production issues across hardware and software is critical to success in this role. You will report to the Strategic and Missile Defense (SMD) Mission Assurance Director, and matrixed to the FBM LE2 Program Manager Director.   Responsibilities include: Mission Success Advocate – be the champion to make sure that all aspects related to requirements are evaluated and risks managed across LE2, providing an independent appeal path and independent risk assessments for mission success issues. Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Provide expertise to the LE2 program to anticipate, predict, and prevent potential mission risk issues by resolving them as early in the program life cycle and at the lowest program level possible. Enterprise Communication – Communicate systemic issues and best practices across the Enterprise, including addressing all bulletins/GIDEP/lessons learned/advisories affecting LE2program products and coordinating of internal MS Audit activities. Mission Success Event Management – Manage the LE2 MS Event process, including independent review board (IRB) leadership and presentation of issues and recommendations to LM and customer executive leadership Failure Resolution Cognizance – Review all major anomalies for adequacy of root cause identification, corrective actions, validity of conclusions, and effectiveness of implemented corrective measures Potential Reach Across Cognizance – Ensure issues that have the potential of reach across to other Strategic Reentry Products and other missile development programs are known and communicated Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice. Basic Qualifications 
 Bachelor’s or Master's degree from an accredited university, preferably in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or anything else  Ability to work with failure investigations or failure analysis or demonstrated understanding of risk identification and/ or mitigation Customer orientated Active Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance Willingness to travel Desired Skills 
 Master of Science in a STEM field from an accredited university FBM program experience Demonstrated Speak Up attitude Experience across all aspects of the program lifecycle, such as design, development, flight test, and production Experience in
