The Inertial Systems team at Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Program/Product Manager to support our Cheshire, CT location responsible for Engineering (Customer and Collins funded) projects as well as management of legacy Programs. This position is an ONSITE role located at our Cheshire, CT location.
What You Will Do
Develop and execute business plans and strategies to grow the Inertial Systems business as part of an overarching business strategy Make decisions within the context of long-term strategic goals and objectives Lead pursuit and order capture activities, including strategy development, customer contact and influence, proposal development, and negotiation Serve as a primary customer contact for program activities Lead program execution including NRE development and recurring hardware sales, to support the development of program plans, schedules, financial, technical and schedule objectives Identify and address program challenges and provide recommendations/ resolutions to ensure the successful completion of programs through the Risk Management process Lead program execution with the various functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with the customer program objectives and contracted requirements Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests Own budgets for each project and facilitate cadenced out briefs to senior leadership Coordinate with Engineering, Business Development, and fellow Program Managers to develop and leverage product line solutions and capabilities Contribute to the development of the Inertial Systems Strategic Financial Plan and Annual Operating Plan Build strong working relationships, both internally to Collins and externally Travel Expectation: May travel up to 20% Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience Demonstrated experience in project or program management, overseeing complex initiatives Working knowledge of U.S. government contracting regulations, including FAR and DFAR U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract Qualifications We Prefer: Master’s degree Proven track record managing complex projects or programs/change management.
