Reliability & Vibration Supervisor Job Code: MOMNP3 + Sr. Specialist, Maintenance Location: Demopolis, AL The Opportunity When you join Smurfit Westrock, you will be joining a team that creates sustainable paper and packaging solutions that help move the world forward. In this role, you will lead the mill's vibration analysis and lubrication reliability programs to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and maximize operational efficiency. You will work closely with maintenance, planning, engineering, and operations teams to support proactive asset management and reliability initiatives. You will also provide leadership and development for a team of vibration technicians and lubricators while driving continuous improvement across multiple departments. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: Lead the mill's vibration analysis and lubrication programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and support production objectives. Develop and maintain vibration monitoring routes and predictive maintenance strategies to identify equipment issues before failures occur. Analyze and interpret vibration data to diagnose equipment conditions, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous reliability improvements. Coordinate and monitor lubrication routes and task completions, lubricant usage, and best practices to ensure compliance with the mill's lubrication management program. Supervise and develop a team of vibration technicians and area lubricators by providing coaching, training, performance feedback, and skill development opportunities. Partner with planning, maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to prioritize workloads, schedule reliability activities, and address potential equipment failures. Develop department objectives, training plans, and budget recommendations that support reliability and maintenance excellence. Identify and implement opportunities to improve asset performance, maintenance effectiveness, and overall equipment reliability across multiple departments. Utilize predictive maintenance technologies and reliability tools to support data-driven decision making and long-term asset management strategies. What you need to succeed Required Qualifications Technical certification in vibration analysis, reliability, maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field, Minimum of 5 years of maintenance, reliability, predictive maintenance, or related industrial experience. Experience with vibration analysis, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, or equipment reliability programs. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to supervise, coach, and develop employees. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, evaluate, and implement effective solutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Proficiency with computer-based maintenance and reporting systems, including data analysis and program development tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a paper mill, pulp and paper, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Certification in vibration analysis, machinery diagnostics, lubrication management, or reliability engineering, i.e. Vibration Cat I and Lubrication MLT 1 certifications. Experience developing predictive maintenance programs and reliability strategies. Knowledge of preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, lubrication best practices, and asset management principles. Experience developing departmental
