About this role
Help deliver a smoother lending experience by bringing clarity, speed, and strong controls to the loan origination process. You will be a trusted point of contact for questions and exceptions, partnering across teams to keep work moving and outcomes consistent. As a Loan Originations Associate I within JPMorgan Chase, you will support lending execution by serving as a front-line subject matter resource for inquiries, exceptions, and escalations across Wealth Management, Business Banking, and Commercial Banking. You will manage daily workflow health (triage, prioritization, follow-through), provide timely and accurate guidance to partners, and help drive quality, transparency, and consistent outcomes across the loan origination lifecycle. You will also contribute to process innovation and continuous improvement by applying strong critical thinking, stakeholder management, and data/tech fluency to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and enhance risk controls.
Job Responsibilities
Act as a primary point of contact for inquiries and escalations from internal business partners (WM, BB, CB), providing timely updates, clear next steps, and closure of open items. Triage daily workflow, identify urgent/high-risk items, and drive resolution by engaging the right partners and applying policy/process knowledge (without owning end-to-end deal coordination). Investigate and resolve exceptions, breaks, and discrepancies (e.g., documentation/status gaps, system/data mismatches, condition interpretation questions), escalating appropriately when approvals or additional review is required. Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to resolve short-term problems and navigate competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and turnaround time expectations. Cultivate productive stakeholder relationships through clear, professional communication, conflict-resolution skills, and a solutions-oriented approach during escalations. Provide status visibility to stakeholders through clear written updates, recurring recaps, and issue tracking (e.g., themes, aging, root cause categories); develop concise summaries and periodic readouts as needed. Support accurate documentation and timely transaction progression by reinforcing documentation standards, completion requirements, and “what good looks like” for common lending scenarios. Maintain strong controls by ensuring work is performed in accordance with established procedures, documentation standards, and risk/compliance requirements; support identification and escalation of potential fraud red flags and data security concerns. Identify recurring issues and contribute to process improvements that reduce rework and improve quality and turnaround time (e.g., standard work, checklists, playbooks, job aids) and support change adoption across partner groups. Leverage data and technology tools to analyze workflow trends (e.g., aging, defect drivers, rework reasons), produce simple quantitative reporting, and recommend actions that improve outcomes. Contribute to innovation efforts by participating in pilots/initiatives (including responsible use of automation/AI-enabled capabilities where approved) to improve transparency, decision-support, and process efficiency. Support the Booking Manager with ad hoc priorities, coverage, and continuous improvement initiatives, including preparing summaries for leadership and business stakeholders. Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Minimum of 2 years of experience in loan originations, lending operations, booking, fulfillment, servicing, or a closely related function. Demonstrated ability to manage escalations and resolve issues using structured problem-solving, sound judgment, and strong ownership. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate process/policy into clear guidance for business partners and deliver concise updates/readouts when needed. Strong attention to detail and quality mindset; comfort working
