Standard Job Description 
 The FBM Program is a long standing Lockheed  program and is growing. The Team is looking for a Software Engineer to support building new consoles to replace legacy equipment and maintain and support our current suite of test equipment.   Location : This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Cape Canaveral Space Force Station offsite location and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

The Role

The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. The Software Engineer II is an individual contributor on the LE – Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. You’ll work alongside colleagues and our customers to understand complex needs and requirements, turning them into well-engineered technical solutions.   We need someone that can help lead our effort in:  Designing, building, testing, debugging and documenting software across its lifecycle. Investigating problems and improving the reliability and maintainability of our systems. Contributing your experience to technical decisions, reviews and collaborative problem-solving. Mentoring junior or new staff on projects.   To be effective in this role, you will need: Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification. Experience in different phases of aerospace software development cycle. 2+ years professional experience. To obtain a DoD Security clearance, thus you are a US Citizen. Support Occassional Travel as needed.   Lockheed Martin Standard Job Expectations: Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met. Basic Qualifications 
 Education:   A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college, a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Programming Languages:   Hands-on programming experience in one or more core languages, such as C/C++, Python, Java, LabVIEW, or TestStand.

Operations:  Proven experience working within project teams and collaborative software development efforts.

Experience

Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Clearance :  Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required. Desired Skills 
 Defense & Aerospace Domains: A background or familiarity with aerospace systems, defense technologies, or working directly alongside government/military clients. Agile & Collaboration Tools: Familiarity navigating Agile frameworks and platform management environments like JIRA, Git, and Confluence. Troubleshooting & Field Verification: Advanced on-site diagnostics, systems testing architecture, and hardware/software integration testing. Modern Development Methodologies: Knowledge of DevOps principles, automated test script design, or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts. Lifecycle Experience:
