The Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical design and development of product lines, contributing to project design, development, and prototype production. This role plays a key part in a cross-functional team, driving critical design decisions to ensure seamless integration and design excellence. Responsible for ensuring compliance with engineering standards and codes, the Electrical Engineer researches, evaluates, and refines design methods, and drives implementation of necessary changes to achieve project goals. The expected annual salary range for this role is $122000 - $179000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do: • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering to identify relevant industry standards and compliance requirements impacting product design. • Maintain and apply expertise in relevant standards including UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA, and DOE, ensuring compliance and influencing design decisions. • Support product certification planning, validation, and testing activities and support relevant Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs). • Support production through design for manufacturing (DFM), cost optimization, and reliability improvements using DFMEA / DFSS. • Contribute to assembly optimization, test processes, and product performance in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing and testing teams. • Perform technical reviews to ensure engineering designs meet quality standards. Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 8 years work experience or • Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years work experience OR: • PhD in Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years work experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience developing products from concept to manufacturing launch. • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) techniques. • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts and test operations Skills: • Ability to understand the needs of the business and ability to make wise decisions to maintain customer satisfaction and Eaton quality and profitability • Mentor – can work with less experienced engineers and designer to provide meaningful feedback about design implications • Ability to work autonomously and shift to a team environment with the ability to work with other teams within Eaton. • Performs work with a sense of urgency and high attention to detail • Communication - discuss technical concepts and information to internal staff/peers and stakeholders, strong verbal and written documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
