Purpose: We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Project Engineer to play a pivotal role in the execution of our large-scale capital projects. This position acts as the primary technical liaison between the Project Management team, the Engineering disciplines, Procurement, and Construction. The ideal candidate will ensure that technical specifications, quality standards, and design integrity are maintained throughout the project lifecycle, while keeping a keen focus on schedule and budget compliance. Responsibilities: Technical Coordination and Execution Act as the key technical interface between all engineering disciplines (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process) to ensure design integration and consistency across the entire project scope. Review, interpret, and ensure adherence to project specifications, industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Manage the Technical Query (TQ) and Request for Information (RFI) process, ensuring timely responses to minimize delays to procurement or construction activities. Lead the management of change (MOC) process for technical scope deviations, assessing impact on cost, schedule, and quality, and preparing relevant documentation for approval. Procurement and Vendor Management Provide technical support for the procurement process, including the preparation of technical scopes of work and evaluation criteria for major equipment and bulk materials. Lead the technical evaluation of vendor and supplier bids, ensuring compliance with specifications and recommending the best-value solution. Oversee and expedite the review and approval of vendor drawings and documentation (VDRL), coordinating discipline engineers to meet deadlines. Witness factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) for critical equipment as required. Construction and Field Support Serve as the key technical representative during the construction phase, addressing field engineering issues and providing technical clarification to the construction team. Coordinate constructability reviews during the design phase to identify and resolve potential fabrication and installation issues before they impact the schedule. Monitor field work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures. Assist in the preparation of project closeout documentation, including final handover packages and As-Built records. Project Controls and Reporting Collaborate with the Project Controls team on schedule development, ensuring realistic durations for engineering deliverables and procurement activities. Monitor and report on the progress of engineering activities and document control against the schedule baseline. Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues that could potentially impact project cost or schedule performance. What you will bring: Technical and Industry Experience: Progressive engineering and project execution experience, with experience as a Project Engineer or similar role on large capital projects. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical) from an accredited institution. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
