Qualifications
Must have a minimum of (1) year of mechanic work experience or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training position documented on your application and or uploaded resume. Job Description
Summary The Maintenance Generalist is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position supports production in a fresh food manufacturing environment while maintaining compliance with Tyson policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly Complete corrective and emergency maintenance work as assigned Perform equipment adjustments, part replacements, and repairs to maintain optimal performance Follow work orders and document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications Conduct inspections to identify potential equipment failures, safety hazards, or maintenance needs Work closely with Production and Sanitation to coordinate maintenance activities Support sanitation and startup processes following maintenance work Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition Comply with all OSHA, USDA, food safety, and Tyson policies and procedures Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and safe work practices at all times Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives Perform other duties as assigned Fresh Plant Environment Expectations Perform maintenance in raw and fresh product processing areas Ensure all maintenance activities protect food safety and prevent contamination Work in temperature-controlled environments with exposure to moisture, cleaning chemicals, and production equipment Coordinate maintenance work around production schedules and sanitation windows Skills and Competencies Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders Basic computer skills and ability to use CMMS systems Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Demands and Work
