About this role

Our goal is to grow the Google for Education, Chrome and Gemini business with our strategic education customers and scale our technical expertise through our partner ecosystem. We aim to be the most helpful and productive computing platform for students and educators, offering seamless, secure access to learning environments on any device and drive the Gemini potential in education. As a Google for Education Solution Engineer, you will partner with the sales team to accelerate the adoption of Google for Education solutions, including ChromeOS, Google Workspace, and Gemini across schools, government agencies, and partners. You will identify customers technical and educational needs, synthesizing this feedback to help shape future product directions. You will be involved in designing and delivering tailored solution proposals that bring Google’s innovation directly into school infrastructures. You will present to education technology leaders, addressing technical objections and providing strategic recommendations on integration, security, and device management. Furthermore, you will lead the technical facets of solution evaluations, managing bid responses, product briefings, and proof-of-concept implementations while coordinating resources across Google and our channels. Leveraging your expertise in modern web technologies, networking, and the EdTech ecosystem, you will persuasively advocate for Google’s offerings to drive student and educator success.

Identify educational customer business requirements, create and develop solutions (ChromeOS, Workspace for Education, Gemini) to address school infrastructure needs. Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions including bid responses, product briefings, and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) facilitation. Prepare and present demonstrations of Google products to school leadership and government agencies to persuade a technology leadership audience. Promote Google for Education’s portfolio in both customer-facing meetings and public industry events. Lead technical evaluations and coordinate supporting technical resources within Google and our channel partners, and collect/analyze customer feedback to inform future product direction for Chrome and Education teams.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience working as a pre-sales/solution engineer or a similar customer and partner-facing roles, including working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team. Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred qualifications: Experience in solution implementation and use of public cloud (Google Cloud Platform, etc). Experience architecting enterprise deployments, managing endpoint devices, and utilizing EMM/MDM solutions (Chrome Enterprise, Intune, AirWatch). Experience handling production localization issues and navigating modern web applications and collaboration tools. Knowledge of regional EdTech market trends and experience selling or deploying Google Workspace, Classroom, Chromebooks, Google Cloud, and Gemini or similar products and technologies. Expertise in IT infrastructure: Authentication (SSO, Active Directory), Security, Networking, and web/mobile application delivery. Familiarity with endpoint operating system (Android, ChromeOS), browser technologies, and related development.
