General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Program Quality Engineer . This position provides an opportunity to advance cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense and intelligence services and systems. GDMS employees work closely with valued customers to develop solutions that enable high-stakes national security missions.
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards. This role involves designing and implementing quality assurance protocols, analyzing data, and interfacing with various departments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Knowledge of quality engineering methodologies, tools, and standards applicable to software, electrical, systems, or manufacturing engineering. Experience with ISO 9001:2015, CMMI, ISO 14001, ASME, ANSI, EIA, or similar quality-management standards. Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, technical documents, and work instructions for conformance to requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality, manufacturing, engineering, inspection, or measurement tools.
What you’ll experience
Design, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished and finished products. Develop inspection, test, and evaluation methods for production processes, equipment, and finished products. Analyze production data, reports, metrics, defects, and trends to recommend updates to quality standards and procedures. Perform audits; assign corrective actions; verify rework, corrective-action implementation, and compliance with defined requirements. Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
What sets you apart
Experience reviewing drawings, documents, instructions, and test activities to verify compliance with technical and contractual requirements. Knowledge of inspection and measurement tools, techniques, and calibration practices. Experience generating, reviewing, and analyzing quality metrics, project data, audit findings, and corrective-action records. Ability to evaluate defects against established standards and recommend appropriate dispositions. Experience supporting technical design reviews, peer reviews, manufacturing activities, and customer quality interfaces.
