About the Job
General Summary of Position The primary function of the Stock Clerk is to perform a variety of kitchen tasks related to the ordering receiving and proper storing of all products for Nutrition Services. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Technical Service: Performs all functions related to ordering receiving and stocking of supplies and food to Nutrition Services. Ensures all deliveries are accurate and meets quality standards. Verifies all deliveries match orders. Reports any discrepancies to supervisor. Assists with developing a purchase schedule. Maintains par stock. Uses inventory control systems and reports on utilization of products and food. Performs regular inventory checks. Sets up purchase lots for orders. Controls and maintains records of all items issues from Nutrition Services Storeroom. Ensures all items on Pull List are properly thawed. Ensures all outdated items are discarded. Demonstrates knowledge of contents and proper use of all cleaning solutions being used in the cooking area. Ensures all foods are kept under refrigeration when not being utilized for menu production. Put all food and dry goods in correct place using FIFO. Customer Service: Consistently displays professionalism in dealings with patients and families co-workers and staff. Promptly answers customer staff requests pleasantly and appropriately. Approach greet and offer assistance to patients family members physicians and others who may need help. Pitches in to cover shortages within department. Takes initiative to solve problems and recommends improvements of hospital procedures and intra or interdepartmental processes. Development: Participates with supervisors in identifying learning needs. When learning needs are identified participates in training and development activities. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department. Meets all mandatory obligations. Organizational knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments. Participates in departmental projects. Participates in interdepartmental activities when asked. Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff supervisors and managers both inside and outside the unit. Department/Unit Specific Functions and Duties. Maintains a clean sanitized and organized work area. Assists production manager with placing food orders. Fills requisition requests for unit supplies. Minimal Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED preferred Experience 1-2 years Experience in nutrition services required Experience as stock clerk in comparable setting preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to read write speak and comprehend English. Ability to follow basic written and oral instructions. Must be able to perform basic calculations This position has a hiring range of USD $18.40 - USD $29.74 /Hr.
