Why Join Us | DuPont Careers Role Definition: The Strategic Buyer for Corporate Services - Marketing Communications owns the sourcing strategy and supplier ecosystem for all marketing, advertising, media, creative, and brand-related spend. The role partners closely with Marketing, Brand, Digital, and Communications teams to deliver value, protect brand quality, and drive commercial rigor in a traditionally relationship-heavy, fast-moving category. The incumbent balances cost efficiency with creative and brand impact, acting as the commercial bridge between marketing stakeholders and the supplier base.
Role
Deliverables 1. Category Strategy & Marketing Partnership Support and execute category strategies for marketing communications aligned to brand and business objectives. Build strong relationships with business to embed procurement early in the planning cycle. Balance brand quality, speed-to-market, and cost efficiency — recognizing marketing's value-driven (not just cost-driven) priorities. 2. Agency & Media Sourcing Lead agency selection and reviews (creative, media, digital, PR) via structured RFPs and pitch processes. Benchmark and negotiate agency fees, retainers, FTE rate cards, scope of work (SOW), and commission structures. Ability to execute the end-to-end Strategic sourcing activities in selecting the fit for purpose vendor 3. Commercial Negotiation & Value Delivery Negotiate rate cards, production costs, licensing/usage rights, and performance-based models. Deliver cost savings and cost avoidance while safeguarding creative output and brand integrity. Implement decoupling, in-housing, and production optimization strategies where value-accretive 4. Supplier & Agency Relationship Management Manage agency/supplier performance through scorecards, QBRs, and SLAs tied to marketing KPIs. Foster innovation partnerships with key agencies and Service providers. Resolve scope creep, over-servicing, and delivery escalations assertively. 5. Contract, Compliance & Risk Management Draft and manage MSAs, SOWs, retainers, and IP/usage-rights clauses. Ensure compliance with data privacy, advertising standards, and brand/legal requirements. Manage risks around intellectual property, media fraud, and agency concentration. 6. Analytics, Reporting & Governance Track marketing spend, savings, and agency performance via dashboards (Power BI/Excel). Provide executive-ready summaries on category performance, savings pipeline, and market trends. Drive spend visibility and governance across a highly fragmented supplier base. Required Qualifications: - Education : Bachelor's Degree in related field / ( MBA preferred) - Experience: 6 – 8 years in procurement, with 3+ years in marketing/agency category - Certifications : CSCP / CPSM (preferred) - Domain Knowledge : Agency models, media buying, IP/usage rights, production - Technical Skills : SAP / SRM, Excel, Power BI etc., Office 365 - Commercial: E2E Strategic Sourcing, Contract Management, Agency negotiation, SOW/rate-card management etc. Key Result Areas (KRAs) Cost savings & cost avoidance vs. target (realized + pipeline) Agency/media cost benchmarking and rate-card competitiveness % marketing spend under contract / active management Media transparency and audit compliance Agency performance/scorecard ratings & stakeholder satisfaction Reduction in maverick/off contract spend Key Competencies Marketing acumen – Understands brand, creative, and media value drivers, not just cost.
