The Manufacturing Engineer is an established technical and operational performer responsible for owning, improving, and optimizing multiple critical LVT flooring manufacturing processes, including annealing, Coating, Pressing, and Padding. This role is accountable for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance in assigned areas and is intended to develop into broader plant leadership capability.   Duties and Responsibilities

Own Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance for assigned manufacturing processes and drive measurable improvement in each area. Develop into the subject matter expert for annealing, UV coating, pressing, and padding operations, including equipment capability, critical process parameters, process limitations, and operating standards. Lead deep technical troubleshooting of mechanical, process, material flow, adhesive, coating, curing, dimensional stability, and equipment reliability issues. Use structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and data-based decision making to implement permanent corrective actions rather than temporary fixes. Work hand-in-hand with production, maintenance, quality, automation, R&D, and upstream/downstream process teams to improve process stability, reliability, product performance, and cost. Industrialize and continuously improve new and existing manufacturing processes, with special focus on the new pressing operation and process capability development. Support R&D, new product development, trials, process validation, commercialization, and scale-up activities for new products and technologies. Develop, document, standardize, and sustain process settings, work methods, training requirements, operating procedures, and performance expectations. Maintain a strong production floor presence and actively support operators, leads, supervisors, process specialists, and maintenance technicians during critical issues, startups, and improvement activities. Lead cross-functional improvement projects related to safety, quality, uptime, waste reduction, throughput, cost reduction, and customer requirements. Demonstrate leadership readiness by influencing teams, supporting daily management routines, making sound decisions under pressure, and filling in for the Plant Manager in their absence. Perform other duties as needed.

Required Experience and Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. 2-4 years' relevant manufacturing experience OR equivalent combination of education, technical capability, and hands-on industrial experience. Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, milling, coating, lamination, thermal processing, pressing, adhesives, web handling, or flooring-related processes is preferred. Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, reliability, or continuous improvement experience/certification is desirable.

Competencies/Other Pertinent Information

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose complex equipment and process issues in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities, projects, and daily production support needs with limited direction. Demonstrates deep thinking, technical curiosity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to connect process inputs to safety, quality, delivery, and cost outcomes.
