Primary Responsibilities. ​Work within a team of engineers and scientists to develop Python-based analysis scripts that facilitate the qualitative and quantitative analysis of EO/IR sensor systems and generate clear, well-structured data products. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support program objectives and develop clear visualizations that communicate key findings. Assist with data collections and test events including pre-test planning, on-site test support, and post-test data cleaning, validation, and organization. ​Implement industry-standard and custom metrics to evaluate EO/IR system and algorithm performance.   ​Document analysis methodologies, processes, and findings.  Support the development and validation of synthetic EO/IR data generation capabilities by defining analysis needs and comparing synthetic outputs to real-world sensor data. Basic Qualifications. ​Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar) from an ABET-accredited institution, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or a related field with relevant experience.  Proficiency with Python and common scientific libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, scikit-image, statsmodels, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly, etc. Exposure to machine learning (ML) or statistical data analysis methods. Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn EO/IR-specific evaluation techniques. Interest in EO/IR systems and image-based detection and classification. Ability to effectively communicate technical findings clearly in both written and verbal formats within a cross-disciplinary team. Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications. Active SECRET clearance or above. Familiarity with EO/IR imaging system concepts
