Overview
Responsible for overseeing and managing the financial health and performance of a portfolio of projects, serving as a strategic business partner to operations leadership and senior executives. The Director-Finance leads financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, and risk management activities to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and support profitable project execution. The position provides financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making, improve operational performance, and mitigate financial risk across the portfolio. Responsibilities
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives Own revenue recognition; 606 analyses on all revenue (Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP), Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC)), Work in Progress (WIP) monitoring and reconciliation, liquidated damages impact on revenue reconciliation, and quarterly revenue recognition (REVREC) submittals to corporate Review and approve all budget entries and Job Cost Accruals (JCAs) over $250k; monitor jobs for closing and review all project accruals Lead the Unapproved Change Order (UCO) process, which includes review of all UCO updates, lead UCO calls, and drive quarterly 3rd-party and legal reviews for projects with UCO over $5M Attend preliminary and executive project reviews covering status, accruals, variances, revenue recognition, and intercompany activity; serve as liaison to Mastec Corporate on resulting questions Partner with internal teams, PwC, Internal Audit, and Mastec Corporate Percentage of Completion (POC) team on process documentation and controls, Project Management Incentive Program (PMIP) tracking and accounting, and quarterly system access reviews Identify and assess financial risks within the portfolio and develop risk mitigation strategies with senior management and operations Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial
