KBR is seeking an RF Welding TECHNICIAN to support manufacturing of the AxEMU next generation space suit for KBR’s Science and Space division. The RF Welding Technician will work on a collaborative team supporting pressure bladder manufacturing, collaborating with our production and engineering teams, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of RF welding process, and the ability to hit incredibly tight tolerances with accuracy and repeatability. RESPOSIBILITIES: Ensure strict adherence to established procedures, processes and personal warranty. Produce highly accurate pressure bladder components on schedule and error free. Operate RF Welding, Thermoforming, and universal test equipment. Ensure adherence to specifications and standards regarding space flight soft goods manufacturing. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the RF welding lab, including equipment upkeep and workspace tidiness, track completion of daily 5S activities. Support overtime hours as required to maintain schedule. Troubleshoot technical issues with lab equipment and elevate unresolved issues to the lab lead and soft goods management. REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information. Must be able to sit for long periods at the RF machine while manipulating material safely and correctly within the machine platens/tooling envelope.
Education
High School Diploma Years of Experience: Must have 2 years of recent and related work experience. Effective communication and collaboration with leads, engineering, quality assurance. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines for working in a laboratory setting. PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Spacesuit manufacturing. High precision pressure bladder manufacturing. Associates degree in relevant field.
