Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels. Position

Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations—both globally and regionally—to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems. Within this mission, the Regional Applications/Planner team develops and maintains software capabilities that enable advanced planning, analysis, and decision support. We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong Java skills and a passion for building high‑quality, mission-critical software in a collaborative Agile environment. Essential Functions: This position is for a Software Engineer supporting the C2BMC program. The selected candidate will be responsible for software development in the Java language for the Regional Applications / Planner team in Colorado Springs, CO. Key responsibilities include: Design, develop, code, maintain, debug, and configure enterprise software applications and products using Java/J2EE (and potentially other object-oriented languages such as C++ ) Perform analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support Work from specifications and system engineering artifacts (including Use Cases and SysML diagrams ) to develop or modify operating system applications and mission applications Develop software for Unix/Linux environments, applying standard software engineering practices, including coding standards, configuration management, and disciplined build/integration processes Assist with benchmark testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and documentation of programs and features Interface with other system support groups and cross-functional teams to resolve problems, establish standards, and improve overall
