About the role
As Senior Product Manager for Skydio’s Dock & Drone Ecosystem, you will lead the strategy and execution for Skydio’s rapidly scaling X10 Dock ecosystem. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of products across HW and SW. Working closely with customers, engineering, design, operations, and go-to-market (GTM) teams, you will deliver solutions that make drone systems easier to deploy, more capable, simpler to maintain, and more useful over time. This includes maintaining and aggressively pursuing maximum reliability, future-proof product roadmaps, and keeping an ear to the ground to continuously improve the customer and deployment team experience. How you’ll make an impact: Engage with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders to understand core business problems and develop visions and strategies to solve them across both HW and SW. Draw upon direct customer discovery, ride-alongs, and rich analytics to solve the most important and impactful problems for our customers, initially focused on the X10 Dock. Continually develop, own, and publish product requirement documents and roadmaps for Skydio’s current and future dock products. Partner with designers and engineering leaders spanning hardware, firmware, computer vision, AI, and machine learning to execute your product vision and requirements. Capture, document, and distill feedback from customers and prospects to steer and influence product direction. Collaborate closely with sales and customer success to build and maintain close customer relationships and ensure success - you will drive direct internal and external customer enablement. Partner with product marketing to develop launch plans, product positioning, and messaging to bring your products to market to drive real-world outcomes. What makes you a good fit: 3-5+ years of experience defining and delivering hardware products and associated end-to-end software experiences, with clear ownership of strategy, execution, and GTM. A passion and first-instinct for speaking with - and learning from - customers. Our customer’s mission is our mission. Deep interest in system scaling, reliability, data analysis, and in-the-weeds work. Experience shipping robust hardware products in commercial, public safety, or defense markets, or an explicit interest serving customers in those markets.. Inclination to prioritize globally and consider broad business implications beyond just your product. Strong systems thinking and an ability to balance individual product opportunities with the long-term health, simplicity, and extensibility of the broader ecosystem. Detail-oriented with exceptional written and oral communication skills. Direct or indirect experience with engineering that allows you to actively participate in deep discussions with engineers on complex technical architecture challenges and tradeoffs. A background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science. An advanced degree or an MBA would be a plus, but is not required. Bonus points for: Experience with drones, robotics, autonomous systems, or other products operating in demanding physical environments. Experience building product ecosystems involving modular attachments or accessories with significant forwards and backwards compatibility challenges. Experience with remote fleet management, high-availability systems, or products designed for unattended operation at-scale. Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of
