IT Solutions Engineer / Analyst II | Palo Verde

This role helps keep APS’s critical technology systems running reliably and efficiently by building and supporting software used across the organization. As an IT Solutions Engineer / Analyst II, your work spans modern web applications, backend services, and enterprise databases—ensuring tools perform well from initial design through production support. By delivering stable, high‑quality solutions, this role directly supports APS’s ability to serve customers safely, reliably, and at scale, including the energy that powers homes, businesses, and communities across Arizona.   What Your Day Would Be Like:

Designing and developing software solutions that improve how teams across APS work and serve customers Collaborating with IT partners and business stakeholders to translate needs into reliable, scalable applications Supporting application performance and reliability by troubleshooting issues and improving system stability Contributing across the full application lifecycle—from design and development through deployment and production support Helping modernize and maintain enterprise systems that support critical operations at Palo Verde

Experience delivering software solutions across the full application stack, including web interfaces, backend services, and databases A solid understanding of application performance, reliability, and lifecycle support A collaborative problem‑solver who works well with both technical and non‑technical partners Someone who values quality, reliability, and thoughtful design in their work A professional who takes ownership and follows solutions through from development to production

IT Solutions Engineer / Analyst II | Palo Verde

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field PLUS two (2) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience OR (for positions in IT Digital Solutions Delivery) an advanced degree in Data Science, Data/Quantitative/Business Analytics or Economics, Mathematics or Engineering with a focus in Data Science is required Requires basic technical subject matter knowledge within a job area or system

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications

Knowledge of programming languages; database management systems; development platforms: Experience with full stack development, including modern web frameworks, server-side technologies, and RESTful services. Proficiency with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, including stored procedures, query optimization, and schema design. Experience with frameworks commonly used for web application development. Skills in understanding and explaining moderately technical issues and solutions in non-technical terms; working effectively in teams and across organizations; balancing and prioritizing between multiple work streams; collaborating with colleagues and teams in different fields across a diverse organization; solving moderate problems in own area of work

Nuclear Requirements

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
