Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.   Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.  Basic Qualifications 
 Bachelors or higher degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or combination of experience/education Mechanical design experience that includes the interpretation of engineering design drawings. Experience with engineering CAD tools (Creo, Solid Works, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition. Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis. Candidate must have good oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Desired Skills 
 Experience with agile / go fast program execution Self starter with outside the box thinking Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently. Experience with application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5. Experience with Engineering Data Product release process within the Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM) system. Knowledge of LM Space command media. Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical systems.  Active DoD Secret security clearance Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
