Junior Broker, Marine & Energy Treaty, Asia Pacific As a Marine and Energy Treaty Reinsurance Broker, you will support the placement and servicing of marine treaty business, gradually taking on more responsibility for your own portfolio. You will work closely with clients, reinsurers and internal stakeholders to design, negotiate and place reinsurance solutions that meet clients’ needs, while continuing to build your market knowledge and professional network. What the day will look like Support the placement of marine and energy reinsurance programs. Participate and handle pre‑ and post‑renewal activities, including risk analysis, preparing submission materials, contacting reinsurers, negotiating terms and completing the renewal process. Build and deepen knowledge of the reinsurance market and marine and energy segment, growing a strong network of reinsurance contacts to arrange and tender suitable reinsurance cover. Contribute with formulating renewal strategies with senior colleagues and provide technical input where needed. Work with Relationship Managers and other brokers/teams on renewals and RFPs, ensuring a coordinated approach to clients and markets. Contribute to team projects and initiatives that enhance client service, operational efficiency, or market positioning. Provide professional advice and service to clients and ceding offices, always acting in the best interests of our clients. Help organise and coordinate market events and other activities to promote Aon’s Marine Treaty and Reinsurance Solutions brand. Skills and experience that will lead to success Bachelor’s degree preferred (Maritime or Insurance, Economics, Business, Finance or related discipline welcome; other degrees also considered). Ideally 1–3 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, renewables, or a related commercial financial environment – experience in marine (broking, underwriting or claims) is a strong plus but not strictly required. Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills, with confidence in interacting with external partners and clients. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively across multiple functions and locations. Outgoing, service‑oriented mindset with good networking and relationship‑building skills. Analytical, meticulous and proactive, with the ability to interpret data and documentation and draw clear conclusions. Comfortable working with multiple systems and tools; proficient in standard office applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Willingness to pursue relevant professional reinsurance or insurance qualifications and to continuously develop technical knowledge.
