Role
Summary Rivian internships & co-ops are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the entire internship or co-op term. If you are not pursuing a degree, please see our full-time positions at Rivian.com/careers. Note that if your university has specific requirements for internship programs, it is your responsibility to fulfill those requirements. Our Spring Co-Op program runs from Jan - Aug, 2027. In order to be considered for this role, you must be available to work full time (40 hours per week), onsite, for the entire duration. If you are unable to work during the spring semester, please apply to our Summer Internship Program. Responsibilities
What to expect as a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op: Be part of a world-class team, with a focus on high quality and rapid project deployment. Challenge assumptions and be an advocate for best practices. Discover your potential with cross-functional partnerships and be an asset to your leadership team. Partner with Production Engineers and Leaders to ensure successful ramp and long term production.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar. Understanding of manufacturing concepts (cycle time analysis, quality control, equipment efficiency, etc). Experience working in both 2D and 3D CAD environments. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and execute on actions and tasks as requested by your team. Applied knowledge and understanding of engineering first principles. An interest in innovating the automotive and technology industry. Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. Capable of working as a member of a team across several cross functional disciplines, including with external stakeholders. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Must be willing to work overtime, as needed. Travel may be expected. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour for Normal, Illinois based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
