About this role
About the opportunity
As Senior Associate, Treasury, you will autonomously drive core treasury operations, liquidity and cash management, and investments (with a primary focus on public sector financing). Operating with high autonomy, you will manage the short term Treasury book, central bank operations, assess bank’s liquidity position and monitor key KPIs. Acting as a crucial bridge across Group Risk, Accounting, and Regulatory Reporting, you will also as 1 LoD maintain audit readiness to ensure complete operational stability.
In this role, you will
• Trade Execution & Portfolio Management: Evaluate potential investment opportunities, then price (Bloomberg experience required), execute, and log transactions across Front Office tools, focusing primarily on public sector financing and short maturities. Proactively manage money market products and the short-term book, including Repo and Reverse Repo portfolios.
• Liquidity & Reserve Management: Oversee key liquidity functions, including Bundesbank cash pooling, Eurosystem minimum reserve requirements, overnight deposits, credit lines, and short-term portfolio hedging.
• Payment Systems & Central Bank Operations: Serve as the primary deputy for key payment and settlement infrastructure (Target, ESMIG, MACCS) and oversee central bank account management.
• Audit, Compliance & Governance: Support internal and external audits, enforce compliance with key banking regulations, and drive First Line of Defense (1LoD) risk management.
• Product & Tech Initiatives: Lead New Product Process (NPP) implementations, vendor onboarding, core banking system enhancements, and automated reporting solutions using SQL.
What you need to be successful
• Experience: Strong background in bank treasury operations, liquidity management, and money markets, with a preference for hands-on Repo/Reverse Repo and hedging experience.
• Technical & System Expertise: Solid familiarity with Treasury Front Office tools (Bloomberg experience required), payment and settlement systems (Target, ESMIG, MACCS), and data querying skills (SQL).
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial markets combined with a sound grasp of Eurosystem frameworks, reserve requirements, and key European banking regulations (including MaRisk, CRR III, and KWG).
• Ownership: Proven ability to drive cross-functional projects, step in as a trusted deputy across core functions, and operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
