What You Will Be Doing
Work corrective actions for discrepancies in a manufacturing environment across multiple portions of the build. Conduct critical reviews of processes to identify gaps and close the process gaps with the intent of reducing variation and discrepancies in the build. Collaborate with quality engineering and production operations to triage repeat failure modes in a production environment. Utilize lean six sigma toolsets to identify root causes and develop corrective action plans. Collaborate with team members to explore out-of-the-box thinking and contribute to product improvement initiatives. Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Basic Qualifications -Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production operations. -Experience with some combination of the following: experience with manufacturing processes and procedures including composite fabrication, structural assembly, machining, bonded assemblies &/or installations. -Experience with MRP system or SAP or other Manufacturing Execution System (MES) application-Ability to obtain a secret security clearance after offering acceptance and willing to stay in current role/employment throughout the clearance processing period. -Candidate must have a full secret clearance prior to start.
