Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer in the Greater Pennsylvania area to join the AECOM Transportation Department in Mechanicsburg, PA . AECOM is searching for candidates that can be creative and impactful on a wide range of projects. As an Entry-Level Structural Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts to detailed design development and through construction. This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department’s current and future portfolio of projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Develop and strengthen analytical and design skills. Assist with engineering design tasks under the guidance of experienced engineers. Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and final working drawings. Collect, organize, and analyze data to support engineering decisions. Utilize engineering software to solve basic technical problems. Contribute to project work while adhering to established budgets and schedules.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field. Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
Preferred Qualifications
Academic track with structural engineering concentration is highly desirable. Relevant internship experience in the execution of structural design projects is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Some production software experience including but not limited to: MicroStation, AutoCAD, MS Office, Bluebeam is highly desirable. Some structural analysis software experience including but not limited to: STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, CSI
