Maintenance Technician Greer SC 2nd Shift The opportunity The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, trouble-shooting, repairing, and general maintenance of mechanical systems of plant/production machinery. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock Follow all safety and Company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately. Must complete online safety training each month as assigned. Complete regular inspection of equipment to help identify mechanical/electrical issues or concerns and disassemble, repair, replace bearings, seals, gears, etc. as needed. Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines. Analyze, trouble-shoot, and repair mechanical problems of plant machinery using precision maintenance techniques. Follow up with work orders to ensure the problem is repaired properly. Perform maintenance function and troubleshoot to correct inefficiencies and prevent equipment downtime by completing regular PMs. Work within specifications and drawings, responsible for ensuring completion, minimizing waste within set dates and times. Ensure the maintenance and preventive maintenance of corrugating plant process equipment to achieve results, ensure all equipment is running properly and meets operational requirement. Work with maintenance crew to carry out maintenance and repair projects in mechanical, fabrication, plumbing, and welding functions. Comply with Company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA safety and health rules, fire and electrical safety codes and manuals, and standard operating procedures. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including management, employees, and vendors. Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, computers in an industrial environment including hardware, software configuration and troubleshooting, network configuration and troubleshooting. Read schematics and trouble-shoot various pneumatic, hydraulic systems, PLCs, and motors. Demonstrate strong maintenance, plumbing, electrical background (manufacturing preferred) in AC/DC motor control, troubleshooting, and electrical wiring codes. Maintain a well-organized, clean work environment. Maintain good attendance Must be able to work flexible hours and/or extended hours if needed. Perform other duties as assigned. What you need to succeed Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training. Previous or current electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics. Ability to read and understand mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Excellent people skills and communication, both verbal and written. Strong attention to detail. Strong work ethic with emphasis on safety. Corrugated experience preferred. Electrical License or Journeyman Electrical License preferred.
